Earlier on Friday, popular third-party Instagram app, 6tag, stopped working. Don't worry, because a fix has just been released. Just make sure to get the latest version of 6tag from the Windows Phone Store. Superstar developer, Rudy Huyn, said Instagram has changed some value format in the backend, which caused the errors. He was quick to fix the problem, so go update the app and continue uploading those selfies!
The official Instagram app, on the other hand, is still in BETA and hasn't seen any updates since March, 2014. When will it get out of BETA? We asked Microsoft about this during the Lumia 730/725 launch event. Here's the official response:
"We're working with Instagram on a day-to-day basis, trying to make progress on that. I don't have a date, to be honest with you. As soon as we do, we'll communicate it. It's not from shortage of working and partnering, or those type of things." - Chris Weber, CVP, Mobile Device Sales at Microsoft
6tag is a free download from the Windows Phone Store with optional in-app purchases. Go download it now if you haven't done so already. Are you using the official app or do you prefer 6tag? Let us know in the comments.
Thanks for the tip, Nicholas S.!
