Developer Finebits has updated its popular file archiver app 8 Zip for Windows 10. The update turns 8 Zip into a full universal app that will work on Windows 10 Mobile as well, in both its paid and free (8 Zip Lite) versions.

Here's what users can expect with the new version of 8 Zip:

  • High-speed archiving and unpacking.
  • Incorporation of Continuum technology.
  • Ability to decrypt archives using Windows Hello.
  • Play music and video, display images and text files directly in the app.
  • Send files by e-mail, post them on social networks, or share them on OneDrive and DropBox.
  • Select the compression level and password protection.
  • Print documents and images.
  • One purchase gives you a license that is valid for all of your Windows 10 device.

While you can check out the 8 Zip Lite version for free, Finebits is currently running a sale for its paid version. Normally it costs $7.99 but for the next 10 days the price has been cut down to just $0.99. The discount is just for the Windows 10 version.
