Acer refreshes its notebook line-up, launches new desktops at IFA

Acer Aspire R13

Acer not only unveiled a bunch of Predator and gaming-related announcements at IFA, but the company also refreshed and announced some new hardware too. From the Acer R 13 convertible notebook being refreshed to the new Aspire U5-710 all-in-one-desktops with latest Intel processors, the company is clearly upping its game when it comes to offering multiple pieces of kit for different customers.

Acer R 13 Convertible Notebook

The R 13 Convertible Notebook from Acer has seen a refresh, installing a 6th generation Intel processor, latest USB 3.1 Type-C port and improved Wi-Fi connectivity. The 13.3-inch display with a choice of 2K or 1080p is complimented by up to 8GB or RAM, Intel Graphics 520, at least 128GB of internal storage, and support for Windows 10.

Acer Revo Build (M1-601) Series

Acer Revo Build

The new Revo Build Series is an interesting take on the Mini PC. Acer has made it so consumers will be able to customize their computing experience without having to open up the chassis. "Blocks" with different features can be stacked on top of the base unit, which connect together using pins and magnets so there's no fumbling with cabling.

Initially, blocks like the 500GB/1TB portable hard drives will be available at launch, while different blocks will be rolled out gradually to introduce new features like wireless charging. The base unit is powered by either an Intel Pentium or Celeron processor, as well as up to 8GB of RAM.

The Acer Revo Build M1-601 will be available in EMEA in October with prices starting at €199, and in China in December with prices starting at ¥1,999. US availability and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
