An earlier rumor about Microsoft planning to launch its long-awaited Windows 10 Mobile update for older Windows Phones on Thursday, March 17 was corroborated by another, but still unconfirmed, report.

The previous rumor, which came from a Chinese media outlet, has now been joined by a seperate report at VentureBeat:

"After months of anticipation and a mix of official and internally-communicated delays, Microsoft's long-awaited Windows 10 Mobile upgrade is on the eve of being deployed. Playing its cards incredibly close to the chest, the company will announce its same-day availability on March 17, according to a person familiar with the company's plans."

An official list of the older Windows Phones that will get the Windows 10 Mobile OTA update will also be revealed on that same day, according to the report.
