PhotoMic is a Windows Phone photo editor that gives you the ability to add text bubbles to your photos, creating a short story with your images. The app also has the option to create a collage from your photos that allows your images to take on a comic strip appearance.

PhotoMic has a wide range of templates, fonts and bubble callouts to help you customize your Windows Phone pics. You also have the ability to add an HDR or sketch effect filter to your final product before saving.

In using PhotoMic over the past couple of days, we found it to be a neat Windows Phone photography app for creating unique, fun photos.

Over the last week, some users have been experiencing issues with the WPCentral app for Windows Phone and our massive forums. Specifically, users are getting error messages when trying to access the feature through the app. I let you know last week about the problem, when we re-launched our mobile site, and that our developer Jay Bennett would address the issue as soon as he came back from vacation.

Today, version v4.5.5.915 is now live in the Store and brings along with it that hotfix for the forum issues. The update should resolve any connecting issues that people with Windows Phone 8 and higher were having.

With that update, users could opt to store boarding passes inside their virtual Wallet and easily check in using their Windows Phone. The company operates around 7,000 cabs in several key cities of India: Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad and serves more than 1.8 million passengers. The latest update bumps the app version to 2.0.0.0, and brings in a few new features.

Data Sense is a vital Windows Phone 8.1 tool for many who like to keep track of how much data their phone consumes each month. Even more, the gizmo gives users the ability to restrict background data when roaming, set data limits, and see which apps grabs the most data.

Earlier this week, Microsoft released a companion app for Data Sense called IE Data Savings. The app taps into Data Sense but gives users a more detailed analysis of their Internet Explorer web usage. The app is free, and it should work all phones with the Windows Phone 8.1 OS installed.

Back in Berlin, Germany a few weeks ago during Microsoft's big reveal, many people noticed the Flipboard app for Windows Phone was preloaded on a the new Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 display phones. I won't get into the politics of what happened, but you can pretty much guess that Flipboard was not announced that day. Instead, it is still Coming Soon™.

This morning though, a link for the app has been spotted on the Store. As you may have learned from the headline, you cannot yet download it, making this likely blocked by the developers until they are ready to announce it, or it is a private beta, meant for internal testing.

There is no official Meetup (meetup.com) application for Windows Phone, but there's a cool third-party app you might want to check out called Clique. The app makes it easy for anyone to find and join thousands of local groups around the world. You can browse and search for groups to get involved in and find events to attend.

We've installed Clique on our Lumia 930. Make sure to watch our hands-on video.

Realarm, a handy Windows Phone alarm management app

Realarm is a smooth looking, easy to use alarm management app for your Windows Phone. The app has support for voice commands, re-occurring alarms, alternating alarm sounds and Live Tile support.

Add a user-friendly interface to all of Realarm's features and the app becomes an attractive, dare I say alarming, alternative to the native Windows Phone alarm.
