Assassin's Creed 3 and 4 more games hit Xbox One backward compatibility

The list of backward compatible games on Xbox One is getting a boost today from another Assassin's Creed game, along with four other additions. Alongside Assassin's Creed 3, Xbox's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb has revealed on Twitter that Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond, Shadow Assault/Tenchu, Ilomilo, and Shinobi are all headed to the backward compatible list.

ig addition here is Assassin's Creed 3

The big addition here is Assassin's Creed 3, which makes the fifth game from the franchise to hit the backward compatible list. This entry in the series takes us to the American Colonies in 1775, where you play as a Native American Assassin in an attempt to thwart the Templars' efforts to control the colonies.

Meanwhile, Shadows Assault/Tenchu is an Xbox Live Arcade title in which you tap into a variety of ninja weapons to take down enemies through action-puzzle gameplay. Shinobi, a vintage Sega title, likewise has you playing as a ninja to take out your enemies and save hostages.

Ilomilo offers up something completely different altogether, with challenging puzzles and a charming aesthetic. Lastly, Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond is an over-the-top side-scrolling action game filled with explosions, ninjas, and even killer penguins.

If you already own any of these titles, you should be able to start playing right away on your Xbox One. Otherwise, all are available via the Xbox 360 Marketplace. For more, be sure to check out our running list of backward compatible games.
