ASUS Transformer 3 Pro 2-in-1 debuts in India with a hefty price tag

ASUS' answer to the Surface Pro 4, the Transformer 3 Pro, has made its debut in India. And much like Microsoft's offering, ASUS' 2-in-1 device carries an absurd price tag, with retail prices starting from ₹1,44,990 ($2,160).

The Transformer 3 Pro is made out of aluminum and has a kickstand that lets you prop up the device in various configurations. The 2-in-1 offers a 12.6-inch display with a resolution of 2880 x 1920, Kaby Lake Intel Core i7 CPU, up to 1TB SSD and 16GB of RAM, Thunderbolt 3, USB-C 3.1 (Gen 2), USB 3.0, and HDMI ports, 13MP camera at the back along with a front 2MP camera that offers Windows Hello facial recognition, and front stereo speakers from Harman Kardon.

There's also the ASUS Pen, which offers 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity. ASUS is throwing in the backlit Transformer Cover Keyboard for free as well. Sales of the Transformer 3 Pro will kick off from October, and the device will be available from ecommerce sites as well as leading retail stores.

What do you guys make of the pricing of the Transformer 3 Pro? Any takers?
