AT&T reports Q2 2015 earnings: $33 billion in revenue, adds 2.1 million wireless customers

AT&T has reported its earnings for the second quarter of 2015 today, showing a slight bump in revenue over the same period a year ago. In all, second quarter revenue clocked in at $33 billion, which is up 1.4 percent when compared to the same period a year ago. Additionally, earnings per share were 69 cents — up from 61 cents a year ago.

As far as AT&T's wireless arm is concerned, the company notes that it added 2.1 million wireless customers, with specific numbers breaking down to 410,000 postpaid, 331,000 prepaid, and 1 million connected cars. The company also notes that its wireless postpaid churn rate remains low, at 1.01 percent, while total churn came in at 1.31 percent.

Some other highlights include operating income at $5.7 billion, which is up slightly from $5.6 billion a year ago. Net income came in at $3 billion, down from $3.5 billion over the same period in 2014.
