AwesomeLock gets updated, new features and a trial version in tow

AwesomeLock is a feature rich Windows Phone 8 lockscreen app that delivers news, weather and your next appointment to your Windows Phone lockscreen.

The app was recently updated to version 2.1 which adds a few new features and a trial version to let you try things out before buying.

The new features include:

  • The ability to turn off (or on) any of the features.
  • Display adjustment settings that cover font size, margins, article details, and content separators.
  • Maximum number of news items displayed on the lockscreen increased from 2 to 3.
  • Option to switch off article pictures.
  • Canada added to predefined news feeds.

The update also addresses a few bugs and improves the weather information fetching.

It should be noted that the previous update, version 2.0 added the ability to display stock information on your lockscreen and added a random mode per Country with the news feeds.  The developer is already working on the next update for AwesomeLock which will bring support for multiple news feeds and increases the maximum number of stocks monitored from three to eight.

All in all, the update improves upon the previous versions of AwesomeLock and gives you more options to customize your Windows Phone lockscreen.

AwesomeLock is available for Windows Phone 8 devices. There is now a free trial version with the full version of AwesomeLock running $.99. You can pick up AwesomeLock here in the Windows Phone Store.

Downloaded this after I read the first article on this app about a week or so ago. It really makes the lock screen look great!

I downloaded it earlier too and my main problem was it never updated day to day. I would love to be able to set intervals for updating.

Good lock screen, mine updates weather, news x2 and Bing image no problem. I believe a lot of ppl that bitch on here don't even know how to set up apps properly and blame the dev instead of their own dumb ass

Still not good enough. It reduces the quality of the Bing background picture, and that's a dealbreaker for me. But it's less cluttered now with the "turn off" options.
