Battlefield 1's open beta hits Xbox One on Aug. 31

Electronic Arts has announced that the open beta for Battlefield 1 will hit the Xbox One later this month, on August 31.

Similarly to previous Battlefield public tests, Battlefield 1's open beta will give players access to two game modes, in the form of Conquest and Rush. While both these modes have been in the Battlefield franchise for some time now, the newly debuting Sinai Desert multiplayer map will accompany them.

The Battlefield 1 Open Beta will include the Sinai Desert map, a scorching hot battlefield located just East of El-Jifar. From infantry skirmishes in the narrow streets of the village of Bir el Mazar to dogfights above the majestic cliffs, you'll need to make tactical use of the dunes as you engage in explosive battles. When all hope is lost, reinforcements will arrive in the shape of a powerful Behemoth: a deadly Armored Train charging through the desert sands.

While the open beta will first be available on August 31, those who have signed up as Battlefield Insiders will be given access ahead of the general public. To sign up as a Battlefield Insider, head over to the Battlefield website and provide your preferred platform for the beta test.

Battlefield 1 hits Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC later this year, on October 21.
