Halloween is just a few days away, but Microsoft is already getting into the spirit of the creepy holiday with some new content for its Bing search engine and its Cortana digital assistant.

Bing has now set up special carousels for people who are doing some last-minute Halloween costume shopping, along with finding new holiday-themed recipes or even some pumpkin carving designs. Bing Maps has also added a new "spooky" mode for some select countries:

"Your drive just got a little more fun this week with the Bing Spooky Map experience. Starting today you can opt-in to the Spooky Map to see the frighteningly fun color palate and a new set of Halloween-themed icons to denote landmarks. We've even curated a list of haunted houses in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada."

Cortana has also added some special content for people who ask it "What should I wear for Halloween?" but the most fun is playing the "Name that horror movie" game. Simply say that statement to Cortana and it will bring up a clue to the name of a movie which you have the opportunity to guess right or wrong.

Finally, October 31 will offer a special Halloween-themed Easter egg on the Bing.com site but obviously we will have to wait until Saturday to find out what Microsoft has in store for us.
