BlackBerry hands-on video: Smartphone Round Robin

The third annual Smartphone Round Robin is back, everybody! And we're kicking off the second half with CrackBerry Kevin himself and his bevy of BlackBerries. (Actually, we concentrated on the Bold 9700 and Storm 2, but you know how we are about alliteration.)

Anyhoo, I've started a forum thread at CrackBerry.com to figure out why these things are just so darn addictive. Check it out, and remember that anytime you post in an official Round Robin thread, you're entered to win a phone of your choice from that site (up to $1,000). So get to posting!

Now, check out Kevin and myself after the break.

Having had both windows mobile and blackberry, they definitely have their strengths and weaknesses. I wasnt totally in love with either os but i'm really curious to see what windows mobile 7 will be like. If it does turn out to be really great i will for sure being going toward that direction, but one thing that i think is really great about blackberries are the hardware thats offered. If the future windows mobile is married by great hardware.. i'll be on board!

The basic looking screens and fonts have always turned me off on Blackberry's; although no one can't question their ability to "get business done". The Storm and the Tour to some extent, help to bring a little flash to the platform....but more work is needed before I consider making the switch.

Lol...why are you making fun of the blackberry's screen size/resolution? Comparing it to the HD2 was just mean. lol.

To each their own is what I think. If you like Blackberry...fine. Windows Mobile...fine. iPhone fan...fine. Blackberry's form factor may be a little antiquated but it works. Windows Mobile is extremely customizable. Apple's OS brings some eye candy. It's just nice to have options out there.

Blackberry did well because many people were non-smartphone users and had to start using one for their work environment. Since they started with BB they stuck with BB.

Wow, Kevin from Crackberry.com sounds so stupid like he has no clue what he is talking about. Kevin, take you head out of your butt and speak up dude. I know you must have some solid opinions, but all you can do is say. Uh ha. Uh ha.

Well now that I've seen you and Dieter both bang through the new Storm I have to say I'm curious as to the feel. I've used other storm I's and wasn't impressed. Still I like the flexibility and feel of my Omnia more. Still an unlocked HD2 would be my preference.

some where over the rainbow all smartphones have mated to create one super genius phone that works the way phones should and we are free to live a care free existence always on, always conected

HD2 is beautiful... However, it runs WinMo. My last phone was the Touch Diamond which hardware-wise wasn't the greatest to start however it's biggest downfall was WinMo. Utter garbage. Sorry to say it in such a place as this; however, it's the truth.
