Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered won't be sold as separate game

Activision has confirmed that the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 won't be made available as a separate game. Instead, it will only be available with the purchase of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

The publisher confirmed that move in a FAQ page on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a full game digital download that will be included in the Legacy, Legacy Pro, and Digital Deluxe editions of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Internet connection required. You must own Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in order to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will be a graphically revamped version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare that was originally developed by Infinity Ward and released in 2007. The new version is being developed by Raven Software:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered adds improved texture resolution and detail, high-dynamic range lighting, new shadowing and VFX particles, as well as revamped animations and audio.

The game will include the full single-player campaign from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, along with 10 of its multiplayer maps and support for dedicated servers. The FAQ page says Modern Warfare Remastered will also have a multiplayer progression system, giving players a way to unlock weapons, perks, weapon attachments, and more. However, players won't be able to transfer their stats from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.

Pre-orders for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare are now live at Amazon, and will ship on November 4:
