Canadians can now pre-order the just announced Surface 3 tablet on their local Microsoft Store site. Prices begin at $639 for the 10.8-inch device, but at the moment only the two Wi-Fi-only models can be pre-ordered.
$639 will get Canadians the Surface 3 model with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while $739 will bring users the version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. That may sound high compared to the $499 and $599 prices that US residents have for the same versions, but in terms of current exchanges rates, the prices are fairly close. Both versions are scheduled to ship May 5.
Unlike the US Microsoft Store site, which lists future versions with LTE support, there is no such listing for those models in Canada. It's mostly likely because Microsoft has yet to secure any carrier support for the Surface 3, but that might change in the weeks and months to come.
