A few days ago, Windows Phone Central came to you, our dedicated audience, with the proposal of some new names for the site as we seek to expand our coverage heading into the Windows 10 era. At the time, we had three proposals, including Windows One, Windows United or 'something else'.

Let us check out the results and move to the next stage with a new survey!

A lot can happen in a week. New apps join the Windows Phone Store or Windows Store. Your favorite apps can get a big update with a new look or new features. Device rumors come and go. Seven days might not seem like much, but it can be an eternity in the tech news cycle. Every week we're going to compile the biggest stories into one post, so you never fall behind – In Case You Missed It (ICYMI).

As our longtime readers know, here at WPCentral we've been covering a lot more than Windows Phone for the last few years. We recognize that a majority of our readership are Microsoft fans in general, so we've stretched our focus to include Microsoft platforms like the Xbox One. In fact, we've been covering the Xbox One since well before its launch last year.

You might also know that we're headed towards a name change to the site that reflects our broader focus. That's good, because we've also been ramping up our Xbox One coverage as of late. On top of best-in-class Windows Phone and reporting, we want this site to become one of your major destinations for Xbox One stories. Towards that end, we have big plans revolving around the Xbox One. That includes giving out free games and prizes every week, starting tonight! Keep reading for the full story.

Today, Microsoft announced the next chapter in their OS story with Windows 10 or better known as one OS to rule them all. The new operating system, which won't officially debut until mid-2015 is meant for everything from a phone to a tablet to PC to even the Xbox One. It is truly a unifying, singular user experience as even the app Store is a one-stop for all devices.

Over the last year or so WPCentral aka Windows Phone Central has been undergoing many behind the scene changes, including more staff writers and an expansion of our coverage from Windows Phone to everything Microsoft. In hindsight, we knew where Microsoft was going with their Phone and desktop OS, so the slow ramp up made sense to us, though perhaps not always to our readership.

There is just one issue we have been thinking about for a long time: Our name.

As Microsoft's vision of one Windows comes closer to being a reality, our vision of a website covering all of this overlapping that technology is also nearing completion. One request we have had from a small percentage of users is a filtering system to weed out news not relative to your interests.

Truth is, the overwhelming majority of you do like reading everything from Xbox to Surface to Windows news, reviews and articles. Nevertheless, in our attempt to make everyone happy, we are pleased to be rolling out our front-page news filter today, both for the main website as well as the mobile version.

After a recent fix for our Windows Phone app, our developer extraordinaire Jay Bennett has turned his attention back to our Windows 8.1 Modern app. Today, a new update is now available and not only do we have the full changelog, we are proud to note it is more than 'bug fixes and general improvements.'

Without a doubt, one of the most requested features is finally here: the ability to set the default accent color of the app by the user. Therefore, instead of our banner magenta color, much like our Windows Phone app, you can now choose which accent color works for you. Another big feature is Mobile Nations Passport support for logins, but there is even more...

It's Friday, so we should have some fun. What's more fun than talking about your favorite Windows Phone game with Xbox? Earlier this week Microsoft released Age of Empires: Castle Siege for Windows Phone (and Windows 8.1). It's an awesome new game that plays similar to mobile games Clash of Clans and Cloud Raiders. Unlike those two games, you can directly control your troops during attacks AND you get Xbox Live integration.

Over the last week, some users have been experiencing issues with the WPCentral app for Windows Phone and our massive forums. Specifically, users are getting error messages when trying to access the feature through the app. I let you know last week about the problem, when we re-launched our mobile site, and that our developer Jay Bennett would address the issue as soon as he came back from vacation.

Today, version v4.5.5.915 is now live in the Store and brings along with it that hotfix for the forum issues. The update should resolve any connecting issues that people with Windows Phone 8 and higher were having.

Over the last few weeks, www.wpcentral.com has been undergoing some changes in design. The first part was the header at the top displaying featured articles, or news stories related to what you are reading. We then followed up with up and down voting on the main site. Over the last 24-hours, we have been tweaking the mobile version of Windows Phone Central, found at m.wpcentral.com.
