CBS News for Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone scores breaking push notifications, more in latest update

CBS News' gorgeous universal app for Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 scored a pretty nice update today. Some of the features of this update include the option for breaking news push notifications, as well as live tiles for the latest news stories.

Here's a full list of the changes in version 1.3.1:

  • Live tiles for the overall latest news, all topic doors, and each in-depth story
  • Added option for breaking news push notifications
  • Voice commands with Cortana are now initiated with the phrase "cbs news" instead of "cbs"
  • Added a tap and hold option to remove bookmarks
  • Reduced the size of bookmarks to improve the synchronization speed
  • Added more relevant error messages when feeds are empty or unavailable

In addition, there is the usually smattering of bug fixes that address address a number of issues with the app, including the finicky live tile enable/disable switch.
