Celkon Mobiles, the Indian smartphone vendor, has finally put their first Windows Phone device – the Celkon Win 400 - up for sale. While there hasn't been a formal announcement or a press release, the device is now available for sale on Snapdeal.com, a leading online retailer in the country.
Priced at ₹4,999 ($80), the Celkon Win 400 is the cheapest Windows Phone device. That makes it a great entry level Windows Phone device to counter the cheap Androids in the market, but the phone sports modest specifications as one would expect.
Powered by a quad core 1.3 GHz Snapdragon 200 processor, the phone packs in only 512MB of RAM. There's 4GB of onboard storage, with about 2GB available for the user. There's of course MicroSD card support for expanding the memory up to 32GB. The Win 400 features a 4 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a density of 233 pixels per inch. There's a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP snapper in the front.

The Celkon Win 400 is available for sale on Snapdeal.com at a few hundred bucks lesser than the selling price of ₹4,999. The pricing is great, making it the most affordable Windows Phone device, and cutting corners at a few places, the specifications are decent for the price segment. It's left to be seen how the device performs in the real world though, and I look forward to trying it out.
