DOOM is about to get a ton more content, and here's what's coming

The second free content update for DOOM is set to arrive on July 29, and a new trailer is here to show off all of the awesome new stuff coming to the game. In the video below, you can get a quick look at two new multiplayer game modes, Exodus and Sector, which bring a bit of capture-the-flag and base capture fun, respectively. The update also includes a number of new tools for SnapMap makers, including Hell modules and weapon wheel functionality.

The video also gives us a quick peek at the game's first batch of premium multiplayer DLC content, titled "Unto the Evil." The premium DLC pack will launch on August 5 for $15, and includes the following for DOOM multiplayer:

  • Three new multiplayer maps: Offering, Cataclysm, and Ritual
  • A new player-controlled demon: Harvester
  • A new weapon: UAC EMG Pistol
  • New equipment: Kinetic Mine
  • New ways to customize your DOOM Marine, including additional armor sets, patterns, colors, and taunts
  • New hack modules

All told, it looks DOOM multiplayer gamers have a lot to look forward to over the next week. And as a bonus, if you're planning to check out the free content launching on July 29, you'll also be able to take advantage of a double XP weekend running from noon ET on July 29 through noon ET on August 1.

Be sure to let us know what you think of all of the latest DOOM content in the comments. And if you have yet to hop on the DOOM train and want to give it a shot, Amazon currently has the game discounted to just $30 on Xbox One and PC.
