Lumia Black

Nokia's Lumia Black update (rolling out alongside the Update 3 from Microsoft) is still being loaded on hardware in numerous markets post-Nokia World, but should you reside in China, you're more than likely still waiting for the update to hit your Windows Phone. Today, we've got some good news for you. WPDang has learnt through sources that China will see the Lumia Black update from next Wednesday.

According to said sources, both the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 will be joined by newer hardware to be among the first to be upgraded. What's more is the website also notes that all features included in the International Lumia Black update will be available to consumers, including Nokia Storyteller and more, not to mention "Call blocking" and "Application folder" (China-specific features).

You should already be aware of the base improvements Nokia has packaged in the update, but here's a quick reminder of just some of the new features in Lumia Black:

  • Glance Screen - New colours for night mode, notifications, pedometer, custom text and calendar information
  • RAW camera support for both the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 1520
  • New camera algorithms, notably for the Lumia 1020 with tone mapping and noise reduction
  • Bluetooth 4.0 LE

Be sure to check for updates next week and we'll keep you all updated on the process.
