Three in Ireland has announced today that the carrier will start pushing the HTC 8X Windows Phone out its doors tomorrow. The handset, available in 'California Blue', sports a large 4.3" HD display with an 8MP camera and 16GB of storage. It's an advanced device capable of delivering a butter smooth experience.
The HTC 8X is also heading to Three UK, but still no dates or pricing details have been released to the public. While unlocked versions of the Windows Phone are readily available from retailers, including Expansys and Clove, we're still eagerly awaiting announcements from carriers.
So how much will the 8X set Irish consumers back? €459 is the price tag, while Billpay customers will be able to snatch the device for free on Three's Class Flex plan. The ability to take advantage of Three's 'All You Can Eat' data allowances, makes any Windows Phone 8 handset (particularly the HTC 8X) a worthy choice.
Elaine Carey, Sales and Marketing Director at Three, had the following to add to the announcement:
"Three is delighted to bring HTC's new flagship Windows Phone 8X to our customers. There has been quite a bit of excitement amongst our customers with this phone, in particular the added camera features and built in Beats audio technology. It’s a sleek new introduction from HTC which fits comfortably in your hand and one we’re delighted to be launching just in time for the busy Christmas period."
With the launch of the HTC 8X in both the UK and Ireland, Three will be set for Christmas with a flagship Windows Phone that'll sell well should the network back the launch with intense marketing that's seen in media channels for both the iPhone and Android devices. We'd also like to see Three look at the low-end Lumia Windows Phones to compete against cheaper Android hardware that will offer a better user experience.
