Lomogram is a great photo editing app for your Windows Phone that just passed one million downloads. And it only took the app 219 days to get there.
The Windows Phone photography app gets good reviews over in the Windows Phone Store (4.5 stars) and we thought it was time to take a look at things and see what all the excitement was about. Lomogram is nicely laid out with over forty filters, tons of borders and light effects that can be applied to new photos as well as photos already in your Pictures Hub.
Lomogram is a really nice option for those wanting to add a little zip to their photos and a great addition to you Windows Phone photography library.
The main pages for Lomogram includes a Welcome Page where you can launch the camera app, pull up a photo from your Pictures Hub to edit, or view your pending shared photos. You also have a page for Lomogram's settings and an About page.
Settings cover language support, where to save the original photo, output image quality, and your sharing options. Lomogram has options to share photos via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr and vk.
The edit page has a thumbnail image and your options spread across the bottom that includes tools to crop the image, apply an effect, add light filters and add a border. Choose your tool, choose your effect and it's applied to the thumbnail image.
All totaled Lomogram has:
- Forty-two filters
- Seventy-two lightening effects
- Forty-nine borders
- Crop, rotate and flip tools
- Brightness, contrast, exposure and saturation tools (found from the three-dot menu in the adjust command)
In the upper right corner of the edit page you have two control buttons, one to apply a vignette filter and the other to go to the share options. Additionally, from the three dot menu on the edit page you can access save and share options as well.
The filters and lighting effects selections offers a healthy, wide range of effects to add that creative touch to your photos. The cropping tool is preset with a variety of cropping sizes that can be applied to your photos. You can move your photo around to fine tune the crop but it would have been nice to have seen a free-form cropping tool with Lomogram.
Lomogram is a simple, straightforward way to add a creative look to your photos and share them with your friends and family. While the million downloads is impressive, the developer reports that Lomogram has had more than eleven million sessions which breaks down to around 100-150K per day.
