Words with Friends for Windows Phone 8 updated, stability issues addressed

Words with Friends

Words with Friends is a popular online, turn-based, scrabble type game for our Windows Phone 8 devices. The word game was recently updated to version 1.1.1 to mainly deal with stability issues that caused the game to crash.

The Words with Friends update also repairs game and chat sync events as well as a few improvements to the game's notification performance.

Hopefully this latest update will let Words with Friends players concentrate on the game without worrying about stability issues.

Words with Friends is currently running $2.99 and you can find it here in the Windows Phone Store. Unfortunately, there isn't a trial version available.  If you happen to be sporting a Nokia Lumia Windows Phone 8 device, there is a free version of Words with Friends that you can find here in the Nokia Collection of the Windows Phone Store.

Thanks, Dustin, for the tip!

Zynga mages bad apps. I had the original android version on the OG Droid and it was junk too. Dropped games, crashed, froze, etc

Whoa! It actually let me log in. Literally haven't been able to do that since I first created the password for my account.

Happy to have the app, however its so crummy I make sure people see I have it when showing off my lumia, but never actually open it.

Since the update I've experienced more crashes. Just wish my family would listen to me and switch to words by post.

I about words with friends since all my friends and family play it. Before the update words with friends would actually crash my entire phone so hopefully that has now been resolved!

There was nothing wrong with the app worked on my trophy & 920. Got the update but know difference I think a lot of issues comes down to phone!

I think there's a difference between the free Nokia and the pay one.  The pay one is "native" WP8 and the Nokia version is an older one, IIRC.

Although I like Words and Scramble with friends the software is really badly written and they are both just knock offs of a board game.  The Android version of Scramble is beyond aweful and the memory management sucks.  I have to keep resetting the app otherwise it slows down and stops working.  Admittedly my phone is just a Galaxy S1 but there is no excuse for bad programming.
Saying that I still love playing Scramble with Friends and I have been waiting for Windows Phone to get the application.  It is time to upgrade and my next phone will definitely be a Lumia 920.  I am looking forward to writing applications for it.  Microsoft Visual Studio development environment is without equal and that is why Windows Phone will succeed.

Just bought a Windows phone. The first thing I did was buy the Words With Friends app. It's awful. Doesn't load properly. Crashes. A waste of money. Zynga has had some financial troubles recently. I suspect that there is no one left at the compnay to fix problems.
