Nokia launching the Lumia 1020 in China on August 15th

Lumia 1020

The Lumia 1020 is Nokia's pride and joy when it comes to smartphone photography. The handset has launched in the US, but other markets are still looking to get their paws on the high-end device. While it's a niche Lumia handset, the Lumia 1020 is the most advanced Windows Phone available, and now we've learned that it will be launching in China this month - on August 15th to be exact.

Lumia 1020 China

If you're in the US, you can pick up the Lumia 1020 for $299 on contract, so what will Chinese consumers be expecting to fork out? According to ePrice, the Lumia 1020 will be made available in the market for 5,990 CNY (about $980) and will be carried by China Unicom. As for Europe, we'll have to wait for some time more until Nokia releases its latest flagship product.

If you haven't yet done so, be sure to check out our previous coverage, including an in-depth look at the camera.

wtf is your reasoning. its like ur saying 64gb iphone 5 should be $900 because it has a physical home button u cumfuck >.>

From what I know, this 5999 RMB offer is for pre-order only and it consists of 500 RMB worth Suning (the distributor) voucher + Lumia 1020's camera grip (worth 499 RMB). So minus away those two, the phone should cost around 5000 RMB ($816), which is consistent with earlier estimate of 4999 RMB

a european phone, produced in europe and last market is europe ! i m really disappointed by nokia ! i m waiting for the 1020, but if apple is coming with the new iphone i ll buy the iphone 5s ! in these times, nokia should act faster !
