See Stephen Elop with the Lumia 1520

Nokia Lumia 1520

In a few short weeks we’ll hopefully be learning more and getting our hands on the Nokia Lumia 1520. It’s the upcoming device from Nokia that will be the first Windows Phone 8 device with a 1080p display and a quad-core processor. Earlier this summer we heard that Nokia had an event planned for September 26th in New York City, however dates could be changing due to the Microsoft deal.

Regardless, wherever and whenever Nokia decides to announce the Lumia 1520 we’ll be there to give you guys and gals coverage. But before then, we wanted to share an image of Stephen Elop and the Lumia 1520.

First a quick recap about what we know about the Lumia 1520. It’s going to be a 6-inch device with a 1080p display. It’ll feature the Snapdragon 800 processor, which is quad-core. The chassis will be similar to the Lumia 925, so with the camera you’re looking at a 20MP shooter that takes 16MP and 5MP images simultaneously. You also have 32GB of internal storage, but you can expand that with the microSD slot. There are going to be four mics as well to help with rich audio recording. And the battery is a whopping 3,400 mAh pack to power you though your day. Earlier on Twitter, our friend Clifton Thomas shared an image he had of Stephen Elop with the Lumia 1520. It’s an approximation of what it’ll be like whenever the device is announced.

That would replace my tv I could put it in front of my 47' vizio and get sling box and I'll have the best TV experience then anyone even the Dallas Cowboys game this weekend would look awsome on it .....oh only 6inches ....dam :/

I'd get the 1020. I don't really see the point of a phablet yet. I'd rather have a smaller phone and an 8" tablet.

Here is what would be real interesting. Windows 8 Blue and Windows Phone Blue heavily integrated. Rather than throw an 8" mini Surface or some such RT into my bag, I grab this beast.

Now, as noted in all the commenst above (LOL) 6" is not 8". But remember what the wise man said....

I second the 1020. But I'd love to get my hands on that camera more than the giant screen. However I now have the 928 and am so far pretty happy with it. If not I might have just waited for another 6 months hoping to get 1020 version on Verizon.

Um bro were still here waiting on gdr2 update in att ! Are you sure you want to join att ? You will be last for and wp8 updates believe me!

Finally. Someone admits that the carriers are choosing which devices they stock, I'm tired of hearing the whiners crying about exclusives because ATT, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon are given the same option yet are choosing to focus more on Apple & Android simply apeasing Microsoft by stocking a couple of WP8 devices.

Anyone want to buy a 1month old 1020? This is going to be its replacement. Lol. I've been diving for a big screen phone since my Titan days!!!!

I wanna sell my yellow 1020 for this too. Comes with camera grip. Fully unlocked and I'm using it on tmobile with no issues.

Hopefully everybody gets the 1520 since a lot were complaining that they was loosing market share of the galaxy note "phablet" trend.

Haven't even gotten GDR2 on my att 920 and they are about to push a device with GDR3 in just a few weeks?

Lets hope they simply decided to skip GDR2 and will jump directly to GDR3 sooner since this is coming.

Well Elop is no more Nokia's CEO so I doubt he has anything to do with this phone now until the "agreement" is completed ealy next year.

Great question people who like 6inch phones are usually people who want spec just as huge it doesn't matter that WP can run just fine without higher specs I say give them what they want since you've decided to join the big a$$ phone market

This is my main question too. It's surprising none of the 100s of articles really mention whether we know if it is built-in or not.

I love that we have so many options now but id love a smaller phone with higher specs like 800 size but 925 design id get that asap im using the 520 now and love the smaller size vs my 900

I think this is my next phone. I am really getting too excited about it. Hope I don't lose my sanity when it's released.

I hate phablets but if the phone comes with a Stephen Elop doll, I'm buying it for purposes of voodoo. First step: crush the doll with the L1520

Hope there's folder now.. Start screen seems on chaos..hehehe.. But yeah, there's always a room for some creativity:-)

Wouldn't it be awesome to have a Windows SmartTV that big? I think it's just a matter of time before Microsoft makes a WindowsTV box, or integrates a Windows-based OS into a TV.

I hope they made a kick stand for this XB phone, otherwise if no wireless charge then build kickstand on the wireless charge cover. I call XB phone is stand for Xtreme Big smartphone.
