Yahoo has announced that their Yahoo Screen video app is now available for Microsoft's Xbox 360 game console, a few months before the online service becomes the exclusive home for the upcoming sixth season of the cult hit sitcom Community.
This is the first time that Yahoo Screen has been ported for a game console; Yahoo has previously released versions of the app for iOS and Android devices, along with Apple TV and Roku. Yahoo states:
The Yahoo Screen experience on Xbox 360 is just like turning on your TV. You can jump right into the most popular videos, flip through videos and channels or search for clips with your controller.
That will definitely come in handy in a few months when Community's sixth season makes its debut on Yahoo. The sitcom, which tells the pop culture-fueled tales of a study group at the fictional Greendale Community College, was cancelled by NBC after five critically acclaimed, but low rated, seasons earlier this year. However, Yahoo announced a couple of weeks ago it would sweep in to help fund and stream the sixth season of 13 episodes.
There's no word yet if Yahoo Screen will be released later for Microsoft's Xbox One console. What do you think about the app making its Xbox 360 debut and will you use it to watch Community's sixth season?
