Rocket Fireworks - a blast of a time waster game for Windows Phone

11

Sometimes the simplest of games can be the most enjoyable. Rocket Fireworks is a Windows Phone game that hopes to fall into that category. Rocket Fireworks includes three gaming options where basically get to shoot fireworks on your Windows Phone. Sounds relatively simple, right?

Rocket Fireworks three gaming modes are designed to test your memory, reactions and tapping speeds. You also have time constraints and color sequences to match to keep the game from becoming too easy. The game concept is simple but mastering it may take some time. Available for low-memory Windows Phones, Rocket Fireworks comes across as a nice fit for the simple but enjoyable Windows Phone mold.

Windows Insider app scores an update, may have blocked Preview hack

228

Update: Reports suggest that Microsoft has plugged the Insider app. Using Fiddler to spoof Windows 10 on your unsupported device will no longer work. Although this was only one method to install Windows 10 unofficially, it was a popular one for those without an SD card.

If you're running the Windows 10 preview for phones on your device, an update for the Windows Insider app is waiting for you bringing it up to version 1.2.217.1. There's no telling what the update does, but it would be a good idea to go ahead and pull it down.

Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 with AnyPen unboxing and impressions

103

Lenovo's new 8-inch tablet has a few tricks, but taking notes is probably not one of 'em.

Besides catching that wrath of security and privacy hounds worldwide recently, Lenovo is also known to make some interesting consumer devices. One of those is the Yoga Tablet 2 with AnyPen, announced earlier this year at CES.

Luckily, this tablet is not part of the Superfish scandal, which only applied to a few notebooks.

The 8-inch Windows tablet is a port of sorts from the popular Android version, but with a twist in the form of AnyPen. The $250 tablet is now available and I besides the unboxing, I give you a quick tour and some initial thoughts about this exciting consumer tablet.

66

Make it Rain: The Love of Money is arguably one of the oddest and silliest games to land on Windows Phone (and Windows 8.1 soon too), but here it is. From the developers Game Troopers comes a simple game that is also evidently popular on Android and iOS.

The goal? Flick dollar bills as fast as you to, well, you know, "make it rain". Of course, there is more to the game than just that as you can score points and then "invest in venture capital, loan sharking, or offshore drilling." Sure, whatever.

The NSA and GCHQ gave themselves a direct line into your phone

182

According to new documents leaked by Edward Snowden, the NSA and its UK counterpart, Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), hacked into the computers of Gemalto, a company that manufactures SIM cards for a large number of carriers around the world. In doing so, the intelligence agencies acquired encryption keys that would allow them to intercept communications from customers of all four major U.S. carriers, along with 450 others around the world.
