Update 12:15 PM ET: And gone! You folks sure buy fast, as the deal is now gone. But keep checking, sometimes Amazon brings it back

Update 1:30 PM ET: It may be gone from Amazon, but Costco's now has it for the same price: Store Link. Thanks, bt66, for the tip

We showed you what the Dell Venue 8 Pro was about recently. The 8-inch tablet runs Windows 8.1 (x86, not RT) and it comes in 32 or 64 GB variations. Sporting a Quad-Core Bay Trail processor and 2 GB of RAM with a stellar IPS WXGA 1280 x 800 display, the Venue 8 Pro has become one of favorite tablets in the eight inch range.

Now, Amazon has the 32 GB version running for a super-low $229 with Prime status. That’s $70 below the retail price and is one heck of a deal for what is easily the best 8-inch full Windows 8.1 tablets around this holiday season. If you have Amazon Prime status, you can even get free 2-day shipping for the darn thing, meaning you could have this as early as Wednesday, right before Turkey Day.

We’re not saying you should treat yourself or a loved one…but yeah, you totally should. Our only complaint about the Venue 8 Pro was the oddly placed Windows key, which is a physical button on top of the device as opposed to a capacitive Windows key on the front bezel. But honestly, that’s a minor quip for a device with outstanding build quality and a hot display.

And yes, we’ll see about doing that head to head with the Lenovo Miix2 this week, but quick tip: go with the Dell.

Interested? Head to Amazon.com to order one now before it’s gone. Thanks, Daniel, for the tip!
