Destiny, Bungie's hit sci-fi first-person shooter, will get yet another large expansion later in 2016. The developer also confirmed that a full sequel to the game is set for release in 2017.

Destiny was first released in September 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Since then, Bungie has released three commercial expansions for the game: The Dark Below in December 2014, House of Wolves in May 2015 and The Taken King in September 2015. Bungie has yet to offer any details about the fourth expansion for Destiny, nor any information on the sequel.

They did, however, offer a little information on a smaller content update for Destiny that's due later this spring:

"That content release will feature a significant Light increase, a bunch of new gear to earn and equip, and new challenges for PvE players seeking some more fun experiences and replayability."
