Square Enix has released a live-action trailer to promote the upcoming cyberpunk-themed action-RPG Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. The trailer sets up the backstory for the game, with a rather frightening look at a version of the near future where people with augmented body parts are being discriminated and suppressed.

The well-produced video introduces the idea of humans in the future getting bionic and augmented replacements for limbs and other body parts. It seems like a new utopia for humanity at first, but later many of those augmented humans begin to lose control and start attacking people for no reason. The video ends with many countries creating laws against "Augs" and putting them into concentration camps away from "Naturals".

Square Enix plans to release Deus Ex: Mankind Divided August 23 for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
