What you need to know

  • Dynabook launched a trio of new laptops for its Portégé business lineup.
  • The latest X30, X40, and X50 incorporate Intel's 10th Gen Comet Lake processors.
  • Dynabook also included a new privacy screen, webcam shutter, Wi-Fi 6, and more.
  • The trio is expected to go on sale later in the second quarter starting at $1,300.

Dynabook Americas, which was formerly the American arm of Toshiba, took the wraps off of the latest entries in its Portégé X Series of business laptops today. The trio of new laptops include the 13.3-inch X30-G, 14-inch X40-G, and 15.6-inch X50-G. All of them have been equipped with Intel's latest 10th Gen CPUs, and Dynabook has included some key upgrades across the board.

One of the more notable additions is a new privacy screen present on the Portégé X40. Enabling it limits the viewing angles of the screen, allowing you to keep prying eyes from seeing your work. Dynabook has also bolstered security across all three laptops with a physical webcam shutter.

Because they're aimed at businesses, the new Portégé X Series laptops also include some solid security features. Dynabook says those include its proprietary BIOS, TPM 2.0, and an optional smart card reader. There's also the option to add in an IR camera and fingerprint reader for an added layer of security.

Rounding things out are Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and there are also two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 ports thrown in for good measure.
