Electronic Arts will bring golf's biggest franchise to the Xbox One for the first time in June. The publisher announced today the first few details for EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, with McIlroy replacing Tiger Woods as the game's featured player. Woods had been the face of the game for the past 16 versions of PGA Tour.

EA Sports has released a video showing the graphical differences between the last game in the series Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, and the upcoming Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, which will use the Frostbite 3 engine. EA says that the game won't have any load times between holes anymore with this new edition as entire courses can now be loaded at once, which should cut down on overall play times.

EA added:

Take a break from the expected and enter "The Night Club" to play over 170 unique challenges, equipped with over-the-top gameplay boosts. Take a step off the traditional cart path and compete with big personalities on even BIGGER Fantasy Courses.

So far, there's no word on a specific launch date for the game, nor is there any word on the number of courses and other PGA Tour players that will be available in the game.
