Announced today alongside the Nokia Lumia 2520 at Nokia World 2013, is this, the companion keyboard case. Nokia didn't go down the touch-cover style route with the 2520, instead opting to produce a full tactile keyboard with gesture trackpad. It's also a case, protecting the tablet front and back, and it's got some additional juice via the on-board battery, that Nokia claims is good for an extra 5 hours battery life for the tablet. And round the back, there's not one but two USB ports.
First impressions are pretty positive. The red version we've seen here in Abu Dhabi looks fantastic, and the feel of typing on the tactile keys isn't quite as good as using a laptop keyboard, but good enough that you'll want to make use of it. The gesture trackpad is a different feel entirely, but will be familiar to anyone who has ever used a touch cover on the Microsoft Surface. It's the exact same kind of application, and it gets the job done.
The overall package adds a degree of thickness, as you would imagine, with the keyboard inside and the battery hump on the base. But it all folds together a little like an envelope when you're ready to take it on the road with you. All in all though, it's a pretty nice keyboard case, and should do a good job at protecting your shiny new Lumia 2520 as well.
