It may be a late Friday, but as Microsoft Joe Belfiore just noted, they are "squeaking one more in this week". That update would be for Facebook Beta, and this is more than just performance improvements (although those are there too). Much like the earlier OneDrive app update, this one brings some significant changes to the layout.
Tonight, version 22.214.171.124 is in the Store and with it comes a beefy changelog, including improvements to 'Top Stories' and 'Most Recent' newsfeeds, which are some of the bigger changes. Let's see what else is new.
Facebook Beta 126.96.36.199/188.8.131.52
- "Top Stories" newsfeed and improved newsfeed ranking
- Improved "Most Recent" newsfeed
- More newsfeed content
- Profile timeline improvements
- Group feed improvements
- Event feed improvements
- Page feed improvements
- General bug fixes
- Performance improvements
As you can see, Microsoft is focusing more heavily on feed improvements on this update. Indeed, in comparing and contrasting the older version with the newer, different content is shown between the two versions, giving a much different user experience. Of course, whether or not you find it an improvement or not remains to be seen.
We are still digging around to see exactly what is new and different, but for now, you can go and download the update and let us know in comments what you think!
