Konami has now posted the first game play footage from Metal Gear Online, the multiplayer mode that will be included as part of their upcoming Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain game for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC and other platforms.

The footage was released as part of the first annual Game Awards event on Friday night. The video with the game play footage begins around the 5 minute mark and shows a third-person themed shooter game as a team attempts to infiltrate a desert base with cloaked team members along with stealth attacks and even a one-man mech turret.

The footage looks impressive but we will have to wait a while before we can get a chance to try Metal Gear Online ourselves as Metal Gear Solid 5 isn't due for release until sometime in 2015.
