Fix in the works for Facebook for WP7 [Update: New version is now live!]

According to Jaime Rodriguez on Twitter, a client evangelist at Redmond, the Facebook for Windows Phone 7 team is working on a fix for the problems some users have been experiencing with the official Facebook app. Until the fix is cleared and the app updated on the Marketplace, we recommend to continue using built-in integration, albeit slightly less feature rich.

Stay tuned for an announcement as to when the update is available for download!

Update: The update has been released on the Marketplace and is ready to download. Please update when possible to fix the crashing issues present.

Fix in the works for Facebook for WP7 [Update: New version is now live!]

I used the FB app a bit today and it didn't crash for me. Guess it's a specific problem with some FB servers in some areas maybe?

My brother and I are in the same town and use the same handset (Samsung Focus). The app crashes on him but not me. Weirdness!

That just shows how it's probably not just the client on WP7 at fault, maybe your accounts are on different FB servers etc.

It's already occurred unfortunately, hopefully this will put some minds at ease that the social empire will be accessible soon.

If that's true then WOW. I came from the BlackBerry world where RIM would either ignore there was an issue or would announce the fix was in the next release, which came 6 months later. Glad to see Microsoft is on the ball. I guess that's the good thing about having a company whose focus in software controlling the OS.

I haven't notced but I didn't use it much yet. I think it could still be way faster, specially when scrolling the News Feed, that's always been the area that's been jerky for me.It's just a small x.x.x.1 update though, nothing major.
