A group of team members from Press Play, the Microsoft-owned game developer that was shut down by the company earlier in 2016, have gotten together to form the new Lightbulb Games. The team is already working on its first title, Pioneers.
The new Lightbulb Games team is still located in Press Play's hometown of Copenhagen, Denmark. The developers are already hard at work on Pioneers, a PC game that will allow players to construct nealy any machine they wish with blocks, while also competing online with friends.
If the game's concept is slightly familiar, that's because it's nearly identical to "Project Karoo", one of three game prototypes that Press Play asked the general public to vote on as their next project back in 2015. The public ended up voting for another game, the multiplayer action title "Project Knoxville", but that title was canceled alongside the shutdown of Press Play.
Lightbulb Games has not announced a release date for Pioneers.
