Ross Martin of Alaska was the very first person who pre-ordered the consumer version of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset earlier this year. Today, the founder of Oculus, Palmer Luckey, personally went to Alaska to hand-deliver the first $599 Rift VR headset to Martin.

Palmer live-streamed the event on his Facebook page (Facebook acquired Oculus a little while ago), and it showed him entering Martin's office at work with the Oculus Rift box, signed by all of the top company execs. Unfortunately, Martin's PCs are not powerful enough to run the Rift, so he has to wait until he goes home to put it on and check out all the VR games and apps.
The first pre-orders for the rest of the world will begin arriving in homes, via standard channels, on March 28.
