It's still too early to know if the recently launched Surface 3 will be as big of a hit as the older Surface Pro 3. Today, Microsoft continued its marketing campaign for the Surface 3 with four 15-second TV ads that showed off specific features of the 10.8-inch tablet.

The first video shows how the Surface 3 is lighter than the Surface Pro 3, but can still run Windows 8.1 and Microsoft Office. The second video shows the optional Surface Pen in action on the tablet, taking notes and saving them to OneNote.

The third video shows the Surface 3's built-in kickstand in action, while the final clip shows how the tablet can be used for both work and play. All four commercials are clearly designed to go after the college student customer who might consider getting the Surface 3 in place of their regular laptop for their next year in school.

So far, Microsoft has not indicated how the Surface 3 is doing in terms of sales. We should learn more in July when the company reveals its financial results for the quarter. We will have our own extensive review of the Surface 3 posted in the near future.
