HP has posted a new video showing its previously announced Elite X3 smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile. The "superphone" is scheduled for release later this year.

The new video shows off the Elite X3, which was first announced in February during the Mobile World Congress trade show. It also shows Microsoft's Windows and Devices head Terry Myerson as he states how proud he was that the two companies collaborated together on the smartphone.

The video shows the 5.96-inch Elite X3 connecting to its Continuum dock so that it can be used like a Windows 10 PC when connected to a big screen monitor. The Elite X3 will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

HP has not announced a specific release date for the Elite X3, nor has it revealed a price tag for the phone or its Continuum dock and Mobile Extender (laptop). Since the Elite x3 relies on a fingerprint scanner and MDM features for business, current estimates put the release sometime around the summer after the Windows 10 Anniversary Update since that upgrade brings those and other features to the platform.
