Hulu Plus to offer select free viewing on mobile this summer

Hulu Plus on Windows Phone

Previously bound to having a Hulu Plus subscription, Hulu this summer will be opening up their free streams to mobile users. As of right now, if you want to watch something that's streaming on Hulu on your mobile device, you'll need a Hulu Plus account — even if that show is free to stream through a desktop browser. Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins announced today that this summer that will change.

There's not much more we can say beyond that, except that the iPhone app is expected to see a redesign this summer as well. We wouldn't be surprised if the Android and Windows Phone apps also receive a redesign to match. Hulu is also still in negotiations with cable companies about integrating Hulu into their boxes, but there haven't been any signs of progress on that front.

In the meantime, you can download Hulu Plus for free from the Windows Phone Store. Of course, you'll need a Hulu Plus subscription to view anything from now, and you'll have to be living in the United States.

Hulu Plus to offer select free viewing on mobile this summer

I used to watch Hulu via the Symbian browser on my Nokia N82 Black. Back then, Hulu was fairly new and there was no such thing as Hulu Plus. The Symbian browser had flash support and Hulu wasn't blocking mobile access in the hopes of gaining subscription revunue. Those were good times...even if the N82 had a 2.4' screen and 2G data speeds....

At first I was like "Metrogram? Seriously? Of all these Instagram clients available on WP you chose Metrogram!" but then I noticed that this picture was uploaded like a year ago. It was comical. I told my mom about it, she didn't enjoy it as much as I did though... Anyway, please let me know what you think about my funny story in the comment section BELOW!!!

Huluplus freaking sucks. Advertisement said Watch new Continuum episodes on Huluplus. Went and signed up and all that's available are 2 min clips. I was a member for all of 5 min.

You guys should make some of these streaming apps available in Africa and I don't mean south Africa alone... Ghana , Nigeria,Kenya,Uganda...etc... Please...
