IAGWH2 - Review

Every now and again we run across rather unique games for your Windows Phone. IAGWH2 is not only a unique game but it also has an equally unique title. It stands for "I am great with headlines 2" and is part puzzle game and part trivia game based on the news headlines of the day.

It reminded me of a game show you'd fine on NPR such as "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" IAGWH2 is a simple, yet entertaining game and to find out more, you've gotta make the jump past the break.

IAGWH2's main menu is straight forward and simple (as most main menu's are). You have buttons to start the game, access the settings, view your game statistics, view a help/how to section and view the game's version/developer information.

IAGWH2's settings covers what type headlines the game will use for the puzzles. The topics include Top Headlines, Sports, Technology, Business, and Entertainment.

Game play is equally as simple. The game pulls headlines from an RSS feed, cuts them up into one word blocks and your job is to put the pieces back together again. To help you along the way there is a "Hint" button that will place one word correctly. If you get the headline wrong, you'll start from scratch.

Scores are based on how many hints you use and how many attempts it takes to get the headline correct. Once you get the headline correct, you are given the option of viewing the rest of the story online or move on to the next headline challenge.

All in all, IAGWH2 is a fun, entertaining, and challenging game for your Windows Phone. I would have like to have seen the "Hint" pull up a snippet of the story but, as is, it works.

IAGWH2 is a free, ad-supported game for your Windows Phone. You can download it here (opens Zune) at the Marketplace.

Update: IAGWH2 was recently updated to add an online scoreboard and a slightly different background.  The background went from the blue to a gray, chalkboard style background.  The online scoreboard doesn't include your scores automatically.  When you choose to upload them, you enter your screen name and they are included on the global scoreboard.

The update improves the appearance and overall experience of IAGWH2.
