Leaked images show 3 new Huawei MateBooks on the way

Huawei MateBooks

If a new batch of leaked images is to be believed, Huawei has 3 new MateBook models in the works as a follow-up to last year's 2-in-1. Revealed on Twitter by prolific leaker Evan Blass, the images show off the Windows 10-powered MateBook E, MateBook X, and MateBook D.

Each model in the leak looks pretty sleek, but of the 3, the MateBook E is the only one that carries a detachable form factor similar to the original MateBook. Both of the other models pictured go a different direction, featuring a more traditional notebook design.

As far as specs are concerned, things are a little harder to pin down. Roland Quandt of Winfuture recently discovered a benchmark from what could be the MateBook X — codenamed Pascal — on Geekbench. From the details, we can gather at least that the laptop will be offered with at least Intel's Kaby Lake Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 15-inch screen. It's likely that the other models will feature Kaby Lake processors as well.

There's no word on when we might expect these new MateBooks to break cover, but it likely won't be too much longer.
