In a press event yesterday, Croma and Intel India launched the Croma 1179 tablet and Croma 1177 2-in-1 convertible powered by Intel processors and running Windows 8.1.

The two products will create a differentiated product proposition in Croma's existing Android tablet offerings. While the 8-inch Croma 1179 tablet is priced at INR 13,990 (US$ 230), the 10.1-inch 2-in-1 Croma 1177 is priced at INR 21,990 (US$ 360). The company claims that the latter is the lowest priced 2-in-1 in the Indian market offering consumers great value for money.

Croma's tablet features an 8-inch, 160 ppi display with a 1280 x 800 resolution. Powered by 1.33GHz Intel Atom Processor Z3735D, the tablet packs in 2 GB of RAM. The tablet features 32GB internal memory which can be expanded using a MicroSD card. There's a 2 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera.

The Croma 2-in-1 10.1-inch offers the portability of a tablet and the performance and convenience of a laptop to consumers. Powered by the Intel Atom -Processor Z3735D, the convertible is 3G-ready and features a 2MP front and 2MP rear camera. Essentially, the 1177 is just the bigger sibling of 1179 and is similarly spec'd.
