Microsoft has just uploaded its latest Surface Pro 3 TV commercial on its YouTube channel. This new ad emphasizes the major features of the tablet-notebook hybrid on its own, without trying to compare it to a Mac notebook like previous commercials in the past.
This ad focuses on things like the adjustable built-in kickstand, the fact that it can run a full desktop version of Office, its bundling of the Surface Pen for writing on its touchscreen, its thickness (0.36 inches) and its weight (1.76 pounds). It also points out the Surface Pro 3 can have as much as 512GB of internal storage although that's obviously just for the highest end model at $1,949.
Overall, this looks to be a very effective commercial from Microsoft. There's nothing juvenile about it, it has a catchy song, and it really focuses on what makes the Surface unique.
By the way, the song snippet that's used in this ad comes from "Something's Happening to Me" by the indie blues artist Arum Rae. Let us know if you start seeing this new Surface ad on TV!
