Subscribers to the MixRadio streaming service have been receiving emails today informing them that Line Corporation will take over all of the personal data and contracts for the service when it closes its acquisition with current owner Microsoft.
According to the joint email from Line and Microsoft:
"Microsoft currently expects to complete the sale of its MixRadio business to LINE Corporation in March 2015. With the completion of this transaction, LINE (UK) Limited ("LINE") assumes responsibility for your personal data and all contractual relationships related to MixRadio. Please contact LINE for questions relating to the management of your account or the exercise of rights under the applicable data protection legislation."
The email added that this change does not affect any other Microsoft-based products and services, with the company adding, "Microsoft continues to be committed to the highest standards to protect your privacy and your personal data."
We recently confirmed that MixRadio will continue to be developed for Windows Phone after Line completes its purchase, while also expanding to include iOS and Android versions.
Thanks to everyone who tipped us!
