It looks like plans to release a Windows Phone version of the Lose It! weight reduction app have been delayed. The app, which was supposed to be released by the end of 2015, now doesn't have a specific release date.
The news comes from the official Lose It! Twitter account, and it mentions that the delay is due to the current "limbo" status of "Project Astoria". Microsoft first announced these new tools at Build 2015, which would have allowed Android apps to be ported to Windows 10 Mobile. However, as we previously reported, Microsoft has since quietly put the development of those tools on hold.
On its Twitter feed, Lose it! stated that their Windows Phone app development was centered on Astoria, and that they don't plan to switch over to "Project Islandwood", which allows iOS apps to be quickly converted to Windows 10 Mobile:
"Per MS's direction we used Astoria. That's where we've invested resources & what we committed to. Nothing planned for Islandwood"
Lose It! does support the Microsoft Band 2 fitness wearable device, but it links only to its Android and iOS apps.
