A few weeks back it was announced that the Canada would finally be picking up a new Lumia, specifically the Lumia 830, after what seems like an eternity of no interesting Windows Phones. Although we knew Canada was getting the new Lumia 830, the carrier and release date was a mystery. Today, we now know at least one of those, the operator.
Rogers is the lucky – and perhaps obvious – candidate for the Lumia 830 and indeed, stores are evidently already putting dummy demo units out for customers to take for a test ride. Reader of the site Mike R. swung by his local Rogers and found this Lumia 830 demo unit available for some public fondling. In the photos that Mike supplied us, you can see some of the Rogers marketing material behind the Lumia 830.
Look closely and you may spy the Tim Horton's app, which is apropos for the region.
Considering stores are taking up demo units we suppose it is safe to say that this phone will be launching on Rogers 'soon,' although which date and at what price are still currently shrouded in mystery, although week of October 2 was overheard. We should also note that just because Rogers is getting this phone, it does not necessarily preclude other carriers from stocking it, or its Lumia 735 cousin. We just know that Rogers is getting the Lumia 830, so keep hope alive if you are on WIND, Bell, TELUS or Koodo.
For our friends up north, are you excited about grabbing the Lumia 830 on Rogers? Let us hear your thoughts.
Thanks, Mike R., for the pics!
