Nokia’s Lumia Black firmware update has slowly been rolling out to handsets and carriers for over a month now. The Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020 on AT&T picked it up, the Lumia 928 on Verizon picked it up, but T-Mobile’s flagship handset has been waiting and waiting. Today’s the day, Lumia Black is now available for the Lumia 925 on T-Mobile.
Lumia Black is now rolling out for the Lumia 925 through an over-the-air (OTA) update. Be patient when checking your phone since the update will probably need to propagate through the servers first. Reports are coming in that the Lumia Black update is rolling out. It was just a few days ago that the Lumia Black update for T-Mobile's Lumia 925 was spotted on Nokia's update servers. At that point we knew it was only a matter of time until that roll out begun. Head to Nokia's support page for North America and you'll see that the update is now available. Not to mention our Lumia 925 is receiving the update now.
Prior to the update your Lumia 925 on T-Mobile will be rocking software version 3050.0000.1336.0005. Download the update and you’ll be at version 3051.40000.1404.0011. This is Lumia Black and it’s awesome.
Firmware enhancements that the Lumia Black update brings are great. You’ll be able to enjoy new features like Bluetooth 4.0 LE support and improved Glance screen functionality with new colors and notifications.
Be sure to check for the update by going into your settings, clicking phone update and clicking phone update. Let us know where are you in the United States and if you see the update! Good luck and welcome to Lumia Black!
After you grab the update don't forget to stop by the Lumia 925 Forums.
Thanks for the tip Travis and everyone!
