Marketplace Spotlight: Hunting Lite

Hunting from BungBungame, is one of those "you against them" games that is set in the Stone Age. There are two versions of the game being offered over at the Windows Marketplace for Mobile. Hunting Lite is the free version that is limited to one of the six game maps. Hunting is a pay version that will run you $1.99 and gives you access to the complete game.

The game setting is simple. You have a map where you have to strategically place your players along a path and defend against invading armies and wild animals. Each player has a limited area of control and are armed with clubs, arrows, slings, and other stone aged weaponry. The goal is to prevent the soldiers and animals from crossing the screen to your territory.

The more enemies you eliminate, the more points and the more defenders you can place. Defenders can be hindered by terrain and objects, making placement key. Some defenders are mobile and can travel up and down for short distances. With each successful round, your opponents increase in number and speed.

Graphics are well done with the only nit being the characters are a bit on the small side and you can't make out the details.  The game ran smoothly with no crashes, glitches or bugs experienced.

The game did have a few slack periods where the action became a little monotonous. However, if you don't pay attention one of those pesky defenders will get past you.  Hunting is a nice game to pass the time with but, often you had to wait too long for the action to come to you relying more on strategy than reaction.

The game is worth considering and with  Hunting Lite being free, you can try things out before buying the full version of Hunting.
