Microsoft is already downloading Windows 10 to some PCs ahead of launch

The launch Windows 10 is no more than 24 hours away, but Microsoft is already preparing things for those who will be upgrading for free. The company has begun rolling out the update to a select number of computers in preparation for the launch.

This initial batch is likely part of an effort by Microsoft to lighten the load on its update server infrastructure, resulting in a smoother experience for customers.You'll know if you've received the install for Windows 10 as a new folder will appear on your operating system partition - $windows.~BT.

As touched on already, Microsoft will roll out the Windows 10 update in waves, so fear not if you've yet to spot anything. Your time will come. Let us know in the comments if you've spotted the OS on your Windows 7 or 8 install.
